Aftercare
Taking care of your hair extensions is vital if you want them to last.

Washing
- Use sulphate free shampoo and conditioner.
- Avoid putting conditioner on the root area and thoroughly rinse to avoid build up.
- Keep your hair at its natural fall when washing i.e in the shower and not flipping your head over the bath.
- Only wash your hair once/twice weekly.Â
- Avoid using colour enhancing shampoos/conditioners i.e silver shampoos. These will dry the hair and affect the lifespan of your extensions.
Styling
- Always use sulphate free products or supplier recommendations.Â
- It is important not to pull or tug too hard when brushing or styling as it is attached to your natural hair. Gently brush your hair from the bottom and slowly work your way up to the top.
- Use a professional extension brush to avoid damage.
- Using heat on hair extensions will reduce their lifespan, so it is advisable to use a heat protection spray/oil.
Sleeping
- Always secure hair in a lose braid before sleeping.
- Never sleep with hair extensions wet or damp as this can cause tangling and matting.
- Using a silk/satin pillowcase will help reduce friction on your hair which can cause damage and split ends.

Products
- Unlike our natural hair, hair extensions receive no natural oils from the scalp so regular treatments will help keep your extensions soft.
Maintenance
- Attend regular maintenance appointments usually around 6-8 weeks.

- Always have them removed by a professional.
Lifestyle
- Cover hair extensions with a towel when using sun beds as the UV rays can discolour and dry the hair.
- Avoid chlorine as this can dry or discolour the hair.
- Avoid excess sun exposure which can lead to dryness.Â
- Tie your hair up when on holiday avoiding sea and pool water.
